Kuu Jhik Jhik...

I heard somewhere, if you consider the total length of Indian Railway, you will reach the Moon. You start thinking going to the Moon; I am going to the land of RedSoil.

Be it under Mamata Banerjee or Lalu Prasad Jadav, Indian Railway is always something… as an Indian you should be proud of.

Kharagpur is known for it’s IIT & longest platform. Never knew it’s Aloordom is so tasty!!! He he :)
I was having a “little heart” break! Writing again; traveling in train, with mouth empty… I cant think! Arrey you have to spend your time being engaged in something, don’t you? Be it Aloorchop, Coffee or Aloordom… train foods are delicious indeed!!!

Indian Railway is trying to gain some pennies selling train-walls for advertisement! I can see LIC launching “New Bima Gold” on my right side & Bhaichung Bhutia saying “Anmol Marie, na khele goti nei” on my left top! Tiger in Taminadu??? Have you ever heard of it??? Its not a Jatayu’s novel; it’s a Tamilnadu Tourism banner, hanging in front of my eyes! Incredible India! I admit!

Some men are playing cards, some are wandering in the world of music, the cute girl sitting beside me is busy with her teddy! She calls it “Bhaiya”! Vendors are calling “chaiyeeeee” … the most famous tone inside a train.

Next station is “Garbeta” , the land of Maoists! I am itching for some food, lets have a Cake…

Need Some Luck!!!

Long winter it seems! Don’t know if I will be able to write again!

What we see from outside, may not be the same thing from inside!

I have lost my word. I don’t know what the reasons are, not sure whether everything will be same or not! Damn, anxiety is getting all over me.

Yesterday I met 5-6 old morons, different souls but pretty known to me!

Did we enjoy that Chicken Bucket the same, as we always do???

Did I find this panic in them, before? ... NO is the answer to both.

We are spending our lives through a tough phase, which I am finding hard to accept! Have I done anything wrong? May be life is not acting as an unbiased!

I was having a chat in Orkut! Friend said me to relax, not to worry! Mumma is saying the same! But it’s turning to a suffering! I don’t want to suffer!

I love to write! Love to express loudly! Is this me? Who didn’t feel to take his pencil for two weeks!!! I want a leave from these! The blue sky, lush green, one step to heaven—drops of rain!!!

Today, I am going to Bankura! May be a change will bring many changes in life! I am eager to meet the nature, the unaffected surroundings!

Hope New Year brings some luck in those poor souls! I shall be back on 2nd January!

Till then stay safe!!! Enjoy!!!

To You, Mr. Ray...

I can’t say, I don’t like your direction and movie sense! But I have an objection; I just can’t tolerate to see you making “Feluda-Remix”, one after another!

You see, there are two types of audience…

1st category: - People who just love to see films in bigscreen! The director? Doesn’t matter here! They go, enjoy the action, comedies, come back home cheering!

2nd category: - Who love to read Satyajit Ray's Feluda; who love to visualize the hero in their imagination! They can see everything happening in front their eyes. Oh! he was an genius!

When these 2nd category people have gone to see your films… well, Mr. Ray, you have disappointed them, 3times in a row!!!

It hurts! It hurts when I see a new script, a new sequence, a new screenshot! I believe in keeping Satyajit Ray’s creation intact, I believe in purity. Every Feluda fan believes so!

You will say time has changed! Feluda should be modern, tech-savvy and all! But trust me; you have failed in this process! You have made a mockery of every story! You have tried to implements “your thoughts” (in Bengali: “Gojamil”), but you are mile away from success! It’s far better to show original Feluda, people love him, not your mockery! You can’t respect creations of a genius; unfortunately you are son of that genius!

A small suggestion to you Mr. Ray! Next time, if you make any movie based on Satyajit Ray’s Feluda; then please choose a completely different movie title and mention you movie is based on Satyajit Ray’s “that” story!

Please remember my suggestion, you can show this much of respect to the Great Man!

Can’t you?

                                               … A fan of Satyajit Ray’s Feluda

4 Mumbai'Kars

A group of four friends, 4 Mumbai' Kars!

Gateway of India! The place, where they were chatting!
A cigarette, a cup of tea… they were discussing about their future. How old were they?? Around 20-22, I guess!

One said, "Fuck this study of Medicine yaar! Wish I could help dad in his business! Life is getting hell!"

Another friend said, "Architect! I thank God for giving me an opportunity to fulfill my childhood dream! It is not a piece of Bread & Butter though!"

Another one said, "My dad has helped me a lot man! He is just great! I want to be like him, a Lawyer! It will be laborious, indeed!"

Last one said, "I just want to finish my degree, as soon as possible! Want to share my hand in our paper mill. Dad is getting older."

… They were certainly dreaming big, dreaming to be a successful in their own domains.

One suddenly asked, "Where do you see yourself after 20years?"
"Together, chatting at the same place!" one joked!
"Hey come on man! We will be rich man! We will meet at a 5star I guess! What say?"
"Sure, definitely at Taj! What say Mr. Architect?"
"If you pay the bill, I won't mind"

They all started laughing!

"Did you hear Prasant is here for his Medical Conference?"
"Are you sure?"
"Yes! I am"
"Then mail him, ask him to meet us! Inform Barun also; hope he will manage an evening from his paper mill!"

…They come to meet on 26th November, 2008 at the Dinning Room of Taj! After a decade I guess!

"So! Here are we, together!"
"Yes, at last! Huh!"
"If you mind, I don't care! But first order something, I am hungry"
Everybody started laughing at Suraj's word!
"Our Architect is still the same, no change!" Anuj said!
"Why should I change? I am not like the price of Barun's paper, which keeps on increasing!"
"Ha Ha Ha! Ok Ok! Let's order something"

Suddenly… "Why so noise man?" They heard two-three big sounds!
"Same old Mumbai! If you are doing your marriage, then do it peacefully na?" "I don't find any necessity of busting crackers! Man! They sound really horrifying"

NEWS FLASH
At around 9.15 pm, some terrorist attacked Mumbai City! They chose to attack 4-5 prime spots! Hotel TajMahal, Oberoi Hotel, Nariman House, VT, CST! Terrorist were carrying sophisticated weapons, hand grenades! They started firing at their will.

… Suraj died! Prasant had bullets in his arm & right chest! Anuj & Barun escaped through the kitchen! They were safe.

Suraj's funeral was done on 28th! His daughter is too young! She has thought, her father has gone to a place. Someone said, he will return soon! She is happy, her father always brings a present for her, from wherever he goes!
Prasant was shifted to Nanavati Hospital, he is out of danger now!

It is 3rd of December! Anuj and Barun meet at the Gateway of India! Still there is a crowd of media! Taj is partially dark! Few people are standing still, looking at the Taj.

Some young boys are chatting…

" Ye dil hain muskil, jina yahan
Jara hatke, jara bachke, ye hain Bombay Meri Jaan"

[ This is a small tribute to all the Mumbai'Kars, who lost their lives at 26/11 incident. My heart goes out to them... ]

For the Spring... I wait!

Just tuned in to a Radio station. "Ae Mere Humsafar"... hmm... nice song!

It is not the Spring, I try to find that Cuckoo singing at a branch beside my window - It is Winter... trees are naked... life is too perhaps, not dealing greatly!

...Those were some days, wish I could keep aside some works for future! Me worshipping idleness, I laugh!

... She has stopped responding! God knows! Hope someday she will realize...

...No where to go man! No place to hangout! No friend to give company! People love themselves the most -- I realize!

...DOJ! Something beyond reach of God, something can be treated as an utopian!

...Global crisis! I don't know how a young man like me has helped to aggravate the whole thing! If I haven't done anything, then why the suffering?

...Politics! I am fade up! It sucks! Modi's hatred against Muslims, encouragement for Hindu terrorists! Where do we live? They use sentiments, emotions... even dead bodies to get votes! I live in a republic nation, I curse myself!

Radio station is playing a Rock ON track! What a time to stop here!

...Planning to break some rules!

~ That spring is not so far!

Cricket Match ... after a Decade!!!

Can't remember last time I played cricket with my mates! Probably at college corridor ( i miss our Eden :P )... 4-5 months or so, boredom was getting all over me... found an sudden escape from it :) Thanks to the game of cricket...

A series of three matches, unpredictable pitch of Milan Sangha ( opposite of Jaya Cinema), 16 young men (some of them did not possess any cricket skill :P )... stage was perfectly set for an perfect clash :)

line ups:- (/ = bat, O = ball, + = keeper)

Team Avra

1. Avrajyoti ( / + )
2.Arnab ( O )
3.Victor ( / )
4.Mrinal (??)
5.Tanmoy ( / O )
6.Sandip ( / O )
7.Sourabh ( / )
8.A local boy( / )

Team Prince

1.Prince ( / O )
2.Bikram ( O )
3.Anupom ( / O )
4.Sushruta (??)
5.Robot (??)
6.Abhra ( / + )
7.Kuntal( local guy) ( / O )
8.A local guy, friend of Bikram ( / )

1st match :-
Prince won the toss, elected to bat first. A superb bowling performance by me & Sandip, bundled them for only 21 :) In reply we lost only two wickets... job well done by our batsmen...Sandip remained not out for 12, me on 4* ... Sourabh, our lefty star was dismissed of an unfortunate run out :(... A commanding performance all-round :)

2nd match:-
Avra won the toss, we were batting first. Due to early blows, poor show by Victor ( who did not get rid of the affects, of a White Mischief file), some inspiring & sharp legspins from Bikram... We managed 30... Tanmoy batted really well for his 15 odd :)

Team Prince had a poor start, Sandip provided us an early breakthrough... It was the 3rd over... of Tanmoy's bowling, I took a blinder... probably the greatest catch of my life :) Diving towards right, covering 2-3 meters ground, inches from the ground... oh!! I was over the Moon!!! My joy did not stay too longer, when i saw 5-6 people were running towards me :( They were overjoyed I guess, jumped on me :( oh!! I was able to save my life, by a whisker!!! Next over, I went to bowl, my dream run continued, took 3 wickets of 4 balls, Avra took a blinder behind the stumps...We were charged up... Team Prince lost by 15 runs :)

Last Match:-

Prince won the toss, elected to Bat! It was an one man show!!! The local boy, Kuntal... utilized every bit of his experiences playing at his home ground! The boy really has great skills, one can say most suitable skills for half-hand cricket!!! He scored 40 odd destroying our bowling all over the park!!! Team Prince made 55.

55 (8 overs) runs on that ground... was just impossible to chase!!! They had a true great bowler in Bikram! We were playing steadily, but 55 runs were just too much!!! There was Victor, spreading his helping hand towards the opposition!!! He faced 30 balls (apprx.)... missed 20 of them!!! It was the last over... 22runs to win , from 6 balls... Avra on strike, Kuntal bowling...

1st ball- delicate late cut... 4
2nd ball- leg glance... 4
3rd ball- bit lucky... no slips in place... 4
4th ball- Avra came down the track... missed it :(
5th ball- again a delicate leg glance... 4
6th ball- lofted over mid-wicket... 4

Kudos to his Batsmanship, we lost by a single run !!!

An eventful day of cricket came to an end! We were overjoyed, not because the cricket we played was superb... because 13 old friends got-together and had a blast!!!

An amazing joy... some wonderful memories...

...got them after a Decade I guess :)

Artistic and Me??? no way...

3-4 months back, another lazy evening it was!!! got nothing to do, as usual!!!
No body was present that time except my idle mind...and... Yes, there were the clicking of mouse buttons!
Can't remember why the MS-Paint was open? Started to scratch randomly with the mouse! Why a fish?? No clue again, but I liked it! Big fish... then two more fishes at top & bottom!

Suddenly found it bit interesting :) Added two-three triangles to make it look different :) Black border & dark-red background... finally complete!!!

An artist??? well I never claim that... but the picture I made that day, gave me immense joy!!! so found it worth mentioning :)

[ didn't make two pictures at the same time, top-one followed the bottom-one ]

210 minutes!!!

"Kolkata Film Festival" -- a pride of our city!

This year, in the 14th edition, cinemas from allover the world were shown in 11 different venues across the city!

Me and my friends went to 'Priya' on the 15th november! Show was from 2.30 p.m.

It was "Three Monkeys" (Üç Maymun) by Nuri Bilge Ceylan, a turkish director, who got the best director award at the Cannes this year!

Ismail is a young, aimless boy whose life undergoes rapid changes since his father Eyp accepts the blames for his bBoss's deed and goes to jail!
Ismail starts to live his life with his mother Hacer, who one day gets herself trapped into that Boss's physical intentions for the sake of money, which he promised to give to Eyp's family in his absence!

One day Eyp comes back! Boss denies Hacer's feelings, denies the past relationships! Ismail takes revenge, murders the boss!
Eyp, after knowing all these, goes to Bayman, a tea seller, to request him to take the blame for Ismail's deed and promises a lot of money!

... film ends here!

Film had everything!  A relatively everyday story, an unique exploration of the dark side of love... violence...uncomfortable silences, betrayal, broken hearts! We gather more from emotions & ambiance than the story! The inherent silence... unspoken tension... husband-wife/ mother-son relationships...3 monkeys! 3 people, who didn't have any other choice... a great film!!!

[109 minutes]

We gave ourselves a break, a few more friends joined us! Next show was from 5 p.m!

It was "Firaaq" by Nandita Sen, an impressive actress! Believe me her debut film is more impressive!

It's 2002, state of Gujrat! It is another riot, another conflict between Hindu & Muslims!
The film is very catchy from it's very start! Two Muslim men digging a mass grave for the victims, where one man goes wild seeing a Hindu woman lying on the ground, he goes to take revenge with the dead Hindu flesh!

Film basically shows the emotions of 5-6 people, directly-indirectly affected by riot. Hanif and Muneera, a Muslim couple with an infant (poor, one should say) return to their home they fled during the violence, they find it ransacked! The barbarism- the betrayal from their neighbors(???)...shatter their lives!

There are moral changes in Aarati, a wife of a middle class family! A little orphan Mohsin(Mohan??!!) comes to her house! She discovers the sufferings, that the 5-6 year boy is talking about... he has lost his family, still he is searching his father with his innocent eyes!

An old Ustad, Khan Saheb! Who doesn't believe in racism, his only religion being music! Suddenly finds his music hasn't got the power to omit the differences between casts!

Sameer Seikh, Anita Desai, intermarried couple find themselves strange in the civil society, faces the tension they have long suppressed!

Firaaq shows hell pity mentality of a class of people, of police, of the administration! It shows the struggle of the deprived men to survive! Sympathies-values are gone from today's life! It's a bold movie, hail director! Truly you have to see the film to realize the real world, the cannibalism in the name of racism! Well, the topic is nothing new, but the approach is really impressive! Hardly showing any violence, any blood...director creates a unique feeling in viewer's mind... Amazing...indeed!

[101 minutes]

~210 minutes... i spent there... worth remembering!!!

Taxi ... Corruption!!!

Taxi!

4 wheels - yellow color painted all over the body - ever increasing fare chart - an essential transport - a silent corruption!

2days back, i was traveling from baguiati to alipore (near national library)... took a taxi; route was pretty simple & hazard free-- vip- bypass- park-circus- AJC Road Flyover- racecourse- alipore! i have traveled atleast 50 times in that route! taxi fare usually gets up to Rs.200 (+/- Rs.10)

reaching ultodanga, an electronic meter generally ticks to 23/24! road was traffic-less, smooth... still the meter reached 29! i asked the driver, what was happening? as all drivers do-- " bhaja mach ultote pare na"-- driver denied, said his meter was tested 'OK' ...blah blah... no point of arguing with them...i stepped down...giving him Rs.50! (what should be the actual fare!)

then took another taxi from ultodanga stand-- the meter had some horse's instinct-- ultodanga to alipore-- meter showed 99! ( no traffic, no halt...nothing) same story again-- one should learn from them, how to lie??? i was just fed up... gave him Rs.200!

taxi is almost a necessary in our lives-- a silent corruption is creeping day by day-- which is not something new-- something you-me aware of, police- administration aware of-- but still, i don't know why police never steps? it's a problem we face regularly, still administration doesn't show any urge to prevent it!!!

~ there is no difference in doing crime and allowing someone to do crime!

'unpredictable' - this word suits you the most -- bowling changes, strategies, taking off your own shirt at Lord's -- no one could guess your next step! you decision of quitting was no different -- that's you!!!~

you are our inspiration, dada! your determination, focus, fight & struggles teach us new lessons! we never break down in our failures! we admire how your bat did the talking, not your mouth! carry on in life with friends & enemies -- you are an example!!!~

If We Could Hold TIME ...

that banyan tree is the oldest resident of our locality, people say it is 200 years old!

the tree has the oldest relationship with time than any one of us! what would the tree do, if it could hold the time? i don't know... a tree cant speak!

things are not the same! building, roads, trees, that smell in the air -- everything has changed! And u? what you feel? are you the same? are those feelings still the same? is your mind still virgin?

well, we are changed!

but you will love to hold time, love to cherish the sweetest moments -- you are walking for the 1st time, people around you are clapping! ; dad is giving you a surprise gift, a cycle on your 5th birthday... oh that smile! ; fighting with sibling... yes, mumma loves you the most! ; bell rings, it's recess, you run to your favorite basketball court! ; college days... a last bencher, a desk drummer, the canteen- the play ground! ; the blue sky- the green field! ; those eyes... that smile! ; 1st crush-- 1st date-- 1st love! ; -- things you want to hold for ever!~

i love to ride on time machine -- i love to see myself an innocent! our cricket matches in the afternoons! ; the problem solver in school, whom teachers loved a lot! ; those summer vacations at granny's house with all the love & affection from her! ; those fights with dada for a biscuit, chocolate! ; the fun i had at my uncle's marriage! ; those birthday parties at our hall room... those late night rehearsals for our functions...those hard fought football matches -- i miss them!
... wish i could hold Time!~

Robibaar... 'Dokan' bondho!!!

i didn't say the above line, neither any shop-keeper said it!

my uncle had  "varicose veins", so it needed to be operated urgently! we took him to Genesis Hospital ( near Rubi Hospital)!  after entering the hospital, you may forget-- where am i ? inside a hospital or a star hotel??? well the experience we had there was certainly unforgettable!

uncle was taken to the O.T ( well equipped, as we heard!) around 9 a.m! the surgeon was a close relative of us, a renowned professional in his job! door was closed, light above the door was switched on!

Operation started!

we all were waiting at visitors' room! at around 9.15, a staff came & asked us to come to O.T! we were worried as we knew the process would take around 2hrs! we went there & saw the gloomy face of the surgeon! :( "what happened"? we asked... he said " i gave the hospital staffs, a list!... things i need (instruments) for the operation & they have forgotten to arrange them"!!! " it will not be possible to operate him again before monday 3pm. ( 30hrs later)" he added!

we asked a medical staff, why tomorrow? why not today at 3pm? we just couldn't believe what we heard... "Robibaar...'dokan' bondho"!

we claim we are fast developing, we take pride in our city, in our state!!! but have you ever heard anything like this before??? a patient is taken to O.T, then one finds there is no instrument to operate!!! you may find the hospital building looking like a hotel, but the basic system is still the same crap!

i am just stunned!!!

[ my uncle was shifted to another nursing home, where the operation was done with success! he is fine now]

curse the irresponsibles & let me know if you have any horrible experience like this...

kaali puja, diwali aur Winter!

5-6 days were still remaining before the ending  of the month , Diwali preparations all over the country was under way...well the "Winter God" had something different in mind, so he started blessing us...what a mistiming!!! :(

"KALI PUJA"
Maa Kali is usually shown with her feet on the chest of Lord Shiva, wearing a "garland of skulls"!!! she symbolizes the darker side of life and epitomizes “Shakti”!!! Ma Kali is worshipped on the dark night of kartik amavasya! we believe worshipping Kali will destroy all evil both that lies outside world and within us!!!

                                   "DIWALI"
the actual name of this festival was "Deepavali" [ came from lighting rows (avali) of lamps (deeva) ] !! but in due course, became Diwali in hindi !! it is the homecoming of Lord Ram after a 14-year exile in the forest, after he defeated the evil & demonic Ravan! --- though according to Sikhs, Diwali came to have special significance from the day when amritsar was illuminated on the return of Guru Hargobind from the captive of Badsah Jahangir. after his release he went to the "Golden Temple" , where he was welcomed in happiness by the people who lit candles & diyas to greet the Guru! ( my Gk is awesome)!!!

the significances are still the same, but i doubt if this shivering cold was there before at the Diwali time! every single day we are playing with the environment, well she cant speak but can react! she reacts creating floods, thunderstorms, droughts!!! i hope she isn't doing any wrong! we are cutting plants, destroying ec0 balances, changing the proportions in the air! we just cant deal in this manner!!! it is our Earth where we live, our Air which we breathe! guys, stand tall & fight for greenery, fight for our environment!!!

who knows next Diwali will welcome some snowfall!!!

[ title is inspired from "sash, bahu aur SenSex" :)]

DaakNaam

"naam er ami, naam er tumi...taai diye jaai chena" well with due regret i just successfully transformed Sukumar Ray into my own form! our parents gave us pretty cool good-names, but nicknames??? i doubt :)

our human society is totally undivided with respect to "naming"! never found any name strictly for the rich people & not for the poor's! really interesting :)

what are the common nicknames you have heard? babai, papai, pinky, rinky, pappu, mimi, diya, riya, chotan, bukai, tushi, rumi, pupai, takai, babu(the most famous) etc. have you ever tried to figure out the meaning of a nickname? well, nicknames in general don’t possess any meaning! these names are sometimes embarrassing you know... suppose accidentally you come across your childhood friend at a office party, "hii ghotka, how are you? kemon achis?" well, that may turn out horribly embarrassing!

suppose i have a bad nickname( bad= i just don't like it somehow)...one day a friend asks me "what is your nickname?" (that friend may or may not be a girl)...i reply to her ->"i don’t have any, people call me by my original name"...many of you have done this! right? (fortunately my nickname is not that bad).

some nicknames keep you evergreen, some make you old at child age! some make you a pretty one, some make you ugly! that is the credit of a nickname :)

well my nickname is burai, what is your nick name? please let me know!

Yahoo Geocities!

i was a webpage developer, yeah really i was! with all the limited knowledge's of HTML acquired from Mr.Byaross's book i hosted a webpage in Yahoo Geocities! it was more tamojoy da's inspiration rather than my enthusiasm :)

during the vacation after the 3rd semester, i found a spare week to work with codes, pictures, pages! initially it contained a few pages like ' about myself ', ' my college ', ' philately ', ' credits ' etc. later i added an album, a photo album--my family, near ones, my home etc. people really appreciated my work!

then came a particular phase of my life, where i didn't get any time for myself! i indulged myself into the college & related activities, as a result that webpage went into vain :(

2-3 months back (i don't know how!) again i got the urge to redevelop that page, but alas! my account was expired! thanks to yahoo customer service, specially the guy named ' Brett '! i was able to regain my account.

now when the stage set to recreate something, i am bit confused ! what to add? what to modify? may be i have lost some of my creativity!!!

please suggest me something! ... here is the link :)

my dvd-writer screwed up :(

oh my lappy! :( guys my dvd-writer got screwed up 2-3 days back! now i cant play any discs! tried to play movie dvds for several times, but no success! boredom is getting all over me as i am forced to exclude movies from my daily routine!

it will take minimum 3k bucks to get a new writer (or 2k to repair it) how can i manage dad? well i have to do that horrifying task for the sake of my writer! do u believe in miracles??? well i do...lets see if it starts to function again, by a MIRACLE!

please pray for my writer!

Dhoni's men got moral victory!

Can u believe it??? India taking over 200 runs lead in the 1st innings against mighty Aussies!!! bravo boys! you have done 1 of the most unachievable thing in the game, which has happened only 3 times in last 1 decade!
It is the 2nd occasion India has taken over 200 runs lead in 1st innings, worth saying " toughest competitor of Aussies"! (only England had this glory in 2005 @ Nottingham... click here for more info)

Credit goes to one man...rookie leggy Amit Mishra ! taking a 5'r ( the sixth Indian bowler to take five wickets in his debut Test, the first since Narendra Hirwani )...they say its easy to score a ton in debut match rather taking a 5 wicket haul! so kudos to Amit!

The audacity that Indian openers showed in the 2nd innings was truly impeccable. 100/0 in 23 overs...well you cant ask for more! We have certainly got moral victory by bundling them out so cheaply...now it's just a matter of time before India draws the 1st blood!

cheers!

score-card of the match so far
